Jtw. Goh et al., ACTIVE CHRONIC PEPTIC-ULCER DISEASE COMPLICATED BY GASTRIC OUTLET OBSTRUCTION IN PREGNANCY, Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, 33(1), 1993, pp. 89-90
A case of active peptic ulcer disease in a primigravida at 29 weeks' g
estation is presented, with a literature review. This particular case
was complicated by gastric outlet obstruction, a complication which ha
s not been previously reported in the obstetric literature. Although a
n uncommon diagnosis in pregnancy, the investigations for peptic ulcer
disease should be actively pursued. Treatment can prevent serious com
plications.
