The kinetics of the methane complete oxidation over the CuZSM-5 cataly
st was studied in a nongradient catalytic reactor. The reaction was sh
own to proceed without diffusion control. The reaction rate is a funct
ion of the CH4 concentration and does not depend on the concentrations
of O-2 and CO2. However, the addition of water vapor results in a mar
ked decrease in the reaction rate. The experimental data agree well wi
th the reaction mechanism proposed.
