Numerical simulation of the dynamics of homogeneous turbulence of a st
ably stratified fluid in the presence of a vertical constant-density g
radient was carried out. The second-order model which is universal wit
h respect to turbulent Reynolds and Peclet numbers and molecular Prand
tl number is applied to the numerical simulation of the dynamics of th
e velocity and density field parameters up to the final stage of der-a
y. At small evolution times Ntau, the results of similation are compar
ed with the familiar experimental data. The structure of a 'relict' tu
rbulence was investigated for the molecular Prandtl numbers correspond
ing to air and sea water.
