Abstract
We present a rare example of hemangioma of the renal capsule. This ben
ign mesenchymal tumor can present diagnostic difficulties, since it ca
n radiographically and macroscopically simulate more common tumors of
the kidney, including renal cell carcinoma. If the diagnosis is made o
r suspected preoperatively or during surgery a more conservative surgi
cal approach should be considered.
