Abstract
We investigated the output characteristics of a dye laser amplifier in which optical pump direction changes the amplifier performance. The e xtraction efficiency was 60% for double-side pumping, and 25.5% for lo ngitudinal pumping. The output energy was maximum when the polarizatio n of the input beam and the pump beam were parallel. All experimental data were obtained using an optimum wavelength of 575 nm.
