Abstract
A useful classification of fabricated ferromagnet sets can be inferred from graphs plotted with the H(cB)/B(r) and H(cl)/B(r) ratios of indi vidual magnets which are closely similar in material composition, prop erties and fabrication history. For each defined set, a mean character istic curve is obtained which may be regression fitted by (i) a logari thmic and (ii) a second-order polynomial expression. Both these regres sion analyses are here further discussed with the resulting suggestion that the limiting type 1 and type 2 classification of ferromagnet set s can be associated with two modes of magnetization in which the corre sponding domain patterns recall, respectively, the laminar and turbule nt flow patterns of a fluid system analogue.
