Early observations identified MG 0414+0534 as a gravitational lens can
didate: it displayed a three-component morphology, with the suggestion
that one of the components was actually an unresolved pair. Higher re
solution radio observations reported here confirm the existence of the
pair and give a measurement of the angular separation of the componen
ts. We show that MG 0414+0534 exhibits properties characteristic of a
simple gravitational lens system, including its morphology and the sim
ilar spectral indices of the different components.
