Abstract
An experimental procedure for determining the microstructural paramete rs of random spatial surface fractals is proposed. The procedure is ba sed on chord length distribution measurements of planar sections of th e investigated material at different linear resolutions, and compariso n of the experimental results with the corresponding parameters of a w ell-defined structure model. The variability of the model allows micro structures with arbitrary volume fraction and fractal dimension to be considered. Furthermore, both discrete and continuous scaling behaviou r have been studied.
