Abstract
For simple-model microscopic systems, we discuss whether (or not) pote ntially observable macroscopic quantum behaviour can arise, making exp licit two criteria which must be satisfied for this to be possible. We also consider the relevance of this for macroscopic quantum behaviour in real systems.
