Abstract
The overview of the geophysical data and main principles of organizati on of the international SUNDIAL project are presented with an accent o n March and December 1988 campaigns. The aim of the project is global ionospherethermosphere system study including diurnal, seasonal and so lar cycle effects, as well as internal and external coupling processes on the base of systematic long-term coordinated measurements in globa l scale. The participantce of Russian and CIS scientists is shown as w ell as future perspectives of cooperation within the frame of SUNDIAL project.
