Abstract
Gas-phase ionization of ethylene with positive ions generated from mol ecular 12 leads to the formation of the iodiranium ion, m/z 155. No fr agmentation or crossover is seen from a mixture of C2H4 and C2D4, alth ough a net isotope effect (I155/I159 = 1.41 +/- 0.02) is observed.
