The generation of transmission schedules for self-organizing radio net
works by traffic sensitive algorithms is described. A centralized ''Tr
affic'' algorithm that can be used as a performance benchmark is prese
nted. Also described is a distributed ''degree'' algorithm that is a t
raffic sensitized version of an algorithm developed by Ephremides and
Truong. Two performance measures for comparing schedules and simulatio
n results are also presented.
