Abstract
Self-diffusion and diffusive transport of propane in large (approximat e to 180 mu m) crystals of AlPO4-5 have been studied by ZLC and tracer ZLC methods. In contrast to the results of recent studies of the self -diffusion of CH4 and CF4 in the same zeolite by the PFG NMR method th e results of the present study show a rather fast one-dimensional Fick ian diffusion process (D approximate to 10(-5)-10(-6) cm(2) s(-1) at 3 00 K) with no evidence of single-file behavior. A possible explanation for this apparent discrepancy is suggested.
