Abstract
Numerous methods of dilating the intramural ureter for ureteroscopy ar
e effective when used by experts, but none is ideal. In the authors' e
xperience, a ureteral stent left indwelling for 1 or, better, 2 weeks
usually is the safest, most reliable, and least traumatic method.
