Abstract
Excess molar volumes at the temperature 298.15 K were measured for the ternary systems (x(1)ethyl propanoate + x(2)hexane + (1 - x(1) - x(2) )heptan-1-ol or (1 - x(1) - x(2))octan-1-ol) and for binary mixtures { x(1)ethyl propanoate + (1 - x(1))n-hexane}, {x(1)ethyl propanoate + (1 - x(1))heptan-1-ol}, {x(1)n-hexane + (1 -x(1))heptan-1-ol}, {x(1)ethy l propanoate + (1 - x(1))octan-1-ol}, and {x(1)n-hexane + (1 - x(1))oc tan-1-ol}. Excess molar volumes were determined using a densimeter Ant on Paar DMA 60/602. The experimental values were compared with the res ults obtained with some empirical methods for the estimation of ternar y properties from binary results.
