Densities and viscosities of ternary systems of NaCl-sucrose-water wer
e measured in the range 283.1 to 303.1 K. NaCl and sucrose molalities
ranged from 0 to 6 mol . kg(-1) and 0 to 5.55 mol . kg(-1), respective
ly. For density, experimental data were fitted by a five-parameter cor
relation with a goodness of fit approximating experimental error. The
presence of NaCl was found to be responsible for excess volume. For vi
scosity, a five-parameter polynomial correlation gave the dependence o
f dynamic viscosity on aqueous molalities and temperature, with a devi
ation less than 3.8%. There was a major contribution of interaction te
rms in the calculation of the ternary viscosity, particularly for the
high viscosity level.
