R. Carle et al., THERMOSPRAY LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY MASS-SPECTROMETRY (TSP LC MS) - ANALYSIS OF ACETYLATED APIGENIN-7-GLUCOSIDES FROM CHAMOMILLA-RECUTITA/, Die Pharmazie, 48(4), 1993, pp. 304-306
Extracts from the flowers of Chamomilla recutita have been examined fo
r acetylated derivatives of the most abundant apigenin-7-O-beta-glucos
ide (1). By using HPLC methods with photodiode-array detection and the
rmospray liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (TSP LC/MS), 4 isomer
ic monoacetates have been found. Apart from the known 2''- and 6''-ace
tates (2, 5) the 3''- and 4''-monoacetates (3, 4) were newly identifie
d and separated by HPLC. In addition, a mixture of the 2'',3''- and 3'
',4''-diacetates (6, 7), which has been inseparable hitherto, has been
resolved by HPLC. Except from apigenin-7-(6''-O-acetyl)-glucoside (5)
all acetylated derivatives were found to undergo rapid ester hydrolys
is.
