Jr. Powell et al., SOLUBILITY OF ANTHRACENE IN BINARY ALCOHOL PLUS 2-METHOXYETHYL ETHER SOLVENT MIXTURES, Journal of chemical and engineering data, 42(2), 1997, pp. 395-397
Experimental solubilities are reported for anthracene dissolved in sev
en binary mixtures containing 2-methoxyethyl ether with 1-propanol, 2-
propanol, 1-butanol, 2-butanol, 2-methyl-1-pentanol, 4-methyl-2-pentan
ol, and 1-octanol at 25 degrees C. Results of these measurements are u
sed to test two mathematical representations based upon the combined n
early ideal binary solvent (NIBS)/Redlich-Kister equation and modified
Wilson model. For the seven systems studied, both equations were foun
d to provide an accurate mathematical representation of the experiment
al data, with an overall average absolute deviation between measured a
nd calculated values being 1.1% and 0.8% for the combined NIBS/Redlich
-Kister and modified Wilson equations, respectively.
