Abstract
Interaction of ethyl 3(H)-oxonaphtho [2,1-b] pyran-2-carboxylate (I) w ith amines gave carboxamide derivatives (IIa-k), while the reaction of (I) with o-phenylenediamine and o-amino-phenol furnished benzimidazol yl and benzoxazolyl [2,1-b] pyran derivatives (IIIa & b) respectively. Also condensation of (I) with p-aminohippuric acid was studied. IR, H -1 NMR, Mass spectra were also investigated.
