Abstract
Chest tubes are inserted for a variety of reasons, and a number of com plications have been associated with their use. We report a case of tr aumatic hemopneumothorax in which the chest tube crossed the mediastin um into the contralateral lung causing a pneumothorax. Its position wa s not apparent on portable chest radiographs.
