S. Heitz et A. Hese, STARK EXPERIMENTS ON NO2 - DETERMINATION OF ELECTRIC-DIPOLE MOMENTS AND OBSERVATION OF PERTURBATIONS BY OBSCURE BACKGROUND LEVELS, The Journal of chemical physics, 98(9), 1993, pp. 6810-6819
Stark experiments in the AB-2(2) <-- X2A1 transition of NO2 were carri
ed out on a supersonic molecular beam by high resolution laser spectro
scopy. The experiments were performed on the (q)R (0)00 and the (q)P(2
)02 transitions in band 99 at 593 nm. An electric dipole moment value
Of mu(b) = 0. 303 (4) D could be determined for the X2A1 ground state
from the Stark behavior of the N(KaKc)'' = 2(02) levels. This result c
ould be confirmed on the N(KaKc)'' = 0(00) levels. The problem of anal
yzing the Stark behavior in perturbed electronic states could be exami
ned in the case of the excited 1(01) levels. Moreover, within the (q)R
(0)00 Stark pattern several perturbations by obscure background states
could be analyzed.
