B. Boag et al., DISTRIBUTION AND PREVALENCE OF THE ENTOMOPATHOGENIC NEMATODE STEINERNEMA-FELTIAE IN SCOTLAND, Annals of Applied Biology, 121(2), 1992, pp. 355-360
The distribution of insect parasitic nematodes in Scotland was investi
gated between April 1988 and April 1989 using the wax moth, Galleria m
ellonella, larvae as bait. Of the 1014 samples examined only 2.2% were
found to be positive and all the nematodes recovered and identified b
elonged to the one species Steinemema feltiae. A more detailed investi
gation into the distribution of S. feltiae in a 1 ha block indicated t
hat it had a very aggregated distribution.
