Va. Sole et al., MEASUREMENT OF THE K-SHELL FLUORESCENCE YIELD OF CA AND K WITH A WINDOWLESS SI(LI) DETECTOR, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 329(3), 1993, pp. 418-422
Measurements of the fluorescence yield of calcium and potassium with a
windowless Si(Li) detector have been performed. In metallic layers K-
shell vacancies were produced by photo effect with a Fe-55 source. The
values obtained are omega(K)(Ca) = (0. 164 +/- 0.004) and omega(K)(K)
= (0. 144 +/- 0.004). For potassium this is the first experimental va
lue reported.
