Abstract
From the methanolic extract of leaves of Rapanea melanophloeos, a moll uscicidal and antifungal triterpenoid saponin has been isolated and id entified as sakurasosaponin by spectral and chemical methods. Three ot her saponins, one of which showed weak molluscicidal activity, have al so been isolated and identified as derivatives of sakurasosaponin.
