Fc. Aepfelbacher et al., CARDIOVASCULAR EFFECTS OF A TRANDOLAPRIL VERAPAMIL COMBINATION IN PATIENTS WITH MILD-TO-MODERATE ESSENTIAL-HYPERTENSION/, The American journal of cardiology, 79(6), 1997, pp. 826
The cardiovascular effects of a combination of trandolapril and verapa
mil were evaluated in 14 patients with mild to moderate essential hype
rtension. This combination therapy decreased arterial pressure mainly
through a decrease in total peripheral resistance without causing an i
ncrease in heart rate or cardiac output: left ventricular mass was sig
nificantly reduced, cardiac systolic function improved, and plasma vol
ume and renal blood flow remained unchanged.
