Abstract
Clients in an animal hospital waitiing room in Manhattan were observed and their interactions with their animals recorded. There was no spec ific difference in interaction rate and type between men and women, al though only women were observed with dogs that had ''clothes'' and wom en tended to hold their animals more than men did.
