LITHIUM COMPLEXES OF 1,2-NAPHTHAQUINONE MONOOXIMES - THE X-RAY CRYSTAL-STRUCTURE OF E)(1,2-NAPHTHAQUINONE-1-OXIMATO)LITHIUM(I).ETHANOL

The complexes Li(1-nqo).1/2EtOH, Li(1-nqo)(1-nqoH).EtOH (1-nqoH = 1,2- naphthaquinone-1-oxime), and Li(2-nqo).1/2EtOH, Li(2-nqo)(2-nqoH).EtOH (2-nqoH = 1,2-naphthaquinone-2-oxime), were prepared by the interacti on of the quinone oxime with lithium hydroxide. The structure of Li(1- nqo)(1-nqoH).EtOH was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction t echniques. The lithium atom is penta-coordinated in a distorted square pyramidal environment.
