Abstract
An unusual form of copper tube corrosion has been detected early in se rvice and in leakage tests after manufacturing. The morphology of this corrosion is similar to an ant nest when viewed in cross section. Cas es of the premature failure of copper tubes, simulation tests, corrosi on mechanisms, and preventive measures are discussed.
