The experimental extimation of the water solubility in granite and bas alt melts has been carried out using tritium autoradiographic method. It was found that water solubility at the pressure 2 kbar in basalt me lt is higher than in obsidian and the temperature dependence has diffe rent sings: in basalt melt solubility increases with temperature, wher eas in obsidian - decreases,
