Abstract
The atomic structure of a melt-spun amorphous Ni56Dy44 alloy was studi ed by neutron diffraction using the isotopic substitution technique wi th nickel isotopes. The three Faber-Ziman partial structure factors as well as the Bhatia-Thornton partial structure factors together with t he corresponding correlation functions were evaluated. The short-range order parameter, calculated from the partial coordination numbers, re flects a chemical ordering effect in amorphous Ni56Dy44.
