Abstract
We report the occurrence of the Asiatic clam, Corbicula sp. in Lake Su perior. Although Corbicula sp. has been recorded earlier from the Grea t Lakes, this is the first report of the clam from Lake Superior. Indi viduals were distributed in the thermal effluent at the Upper Peninsul a Power Company, with the greatest density at 22 degrees C. Density av eraged 96 . m(2). Shell length ranged from 3 mm to 24 mm with 85% of c lams being <1 year old.
