Abstract
The effect of hydrodynamic interactions in a grafted polymer brush und er shear flow is examined. It is shown that the hydrodynamic interacti ons in a strained brush cause an increase in the brush thickness due t o an asymmetry in the pair distribution of monomers. The predictions a re in qualitative agreement with some recent experiments.
