Abstract
Idiopathic intracranial hypertension is a disorder of raised intracran ial pressure found most commonly in obese women of reproductive age. T he most frequent symptom is headache and the most significant morbidit y is progressive Visual loss caused by prolonged papilledema and secon dary optic neuropathies. Management can be medical or surgical and is aimed at towering intracranial pressure, thereby relieving symptoms an d preventing permanent visual loss.
