Abstract
Ionization energies of dithiocarbamate derivatives of a-amino acids (g lycine, alanine, valine, leucine) have been determined by X-Ray Photoe lectron Spectroscopy. The values determined increase as the side chain in these amino acids becomes longer, a fact probably related to the d ifferent donor ability of these radicals. A parallel effect has been a lso observed in the precise positions of the IR absorption bands for t hese compounds.
