Abstract
An antibody was raised to barley powdery mildew (Erysiphe graminis f. sp. hordei) and was used to quantify mildew biomass in both living and senescent leaves in an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Biomass per colony differences attributable to partial resistance components prev iously determined microscopically were confirmed and a high correlatio n (0.96) was recorded with visual field scoring.
