Abstract
A procedure for efficient isolation and cell wall regeneration of prot oplasts from Venturia inaequalis is described. Protoplasts were obtain ed from mycelia using digestive enzyme mixture containing pectinase, c ellulase, beta-glucuronidase, chitinase and novozym 234 with different osmotic stabilizers. Conditions for protoplast release including myce lial age, enzyme combination and choice of osmotic stabilizer have bee n standardized and conditions for high regeneration frequency of proto plasts have also been determined.
