Abstract
The angular distribution of ions desorbed from a MgO(001) surface by e lectron irradiation is measured. The profile of the ion yield curve ag ainst emission angle along the [1001 azimuth shows a sharp peak pointi ng in the direction of the surface normal. The broadest peak is observ ed along the [110] azimuth. The change of the profile is explained by the surface ion arrangement.
