A whole-field strain analysis is performed on the losipescu specimen b
y both moire interferometry and the finite element method. The strain
distribution outside and within the test section is examined for a gra
phite/epoxy woven (0-degrees, 90-degrees) laminate specimen. The effec
t of factors such as twist, bending moment and loading points, which c
ause the experimental errors, is studied.
