Abstract
The procedure for performing standing castration in llamas using butor phanol tartrate (Torbugesic(R):Fort Dodge Laboratories, Fort Dodge, Io wa) is described and illustrated by photographs. This method avoids co mplications associated with lateral recumbency and provides sufficient analgesia with minimal or no observable discomfort in the animal.
