OROSOMUCOID LEVELS IN THE SEMINAL PLASMA OF FERTILE AND INFERTILE MEN

Orosomucoid levels were measured in the seminal plasma of 185 men divi ded in a) twelve groups according to etiological diagnosis of infertil ity and b) two groups on the basis of the normal or abnormal spermiogr am. There was no significant difference of the concentration of semina l plasma orosomucoid between the controls and the patients of the othe r groups. There was no correlation between seminal plasma orosomucoid concentration and sperm concentration, as well as between seminal plas ma orosomucoid level and sperm motility. The evaluation of orosomucoid in the seminal plasma is not of diagnostic value in the workup of mal e infertility.
