Abstract
Aromatic sulfides were oxidized electrochemically in super-dry conditi ons. Whatever the nature of aryl groups, the formation of sulfonium sa lts was observed. Dimeric dications as transients were also detected. Mechanisms are discussed as a function of the nature and location of s ubstituents.
