The magnetisation curves of two ferrofluids have been measured in the
temperature range 3.6-300 K. The measurements show superparamagnetic b
ehaviour above the freezing points of the fluids as demonstrated by th
e superposition of magnetization curves measured at different temperat
ures when plotted versus H/T. In the solid, however, superposition is
not observed since anisotropy barriers are presented. A theory describ
ing this behaviour is presented.
