Abstract
Measurements are reported of the permittivity tensors of a number of m agnetic colloids subjected to a constant magnetic field up to 0.3 T ov er the frequency range 50 kHz to 1 MHz. Magnetically-induced anisotrop y of the dielectric permittivity was only significant in one of the fl uids and its dependence on the magnitude of the magnetic field was in accord with theory.
