Mossbauer spectroscopy was used to investigate the influence of Nd-sub
stitution on the hyperfine field distribution and isomer shift of amor
phous FeB alloys. It is observed that a small addition of Nd causes th
e decrease of average hyperfine field and isomer shift and an increase
of the width (Delta H) of the hyperfine field distribution P(H). At l
ow temperature the average hyperfine field of amorphous Nd4Fe77.5B18.5
alloy shows a temperature dependence of H-a(T) = H-a(0)(1 - BT3/2) wi
th a larger value of B than that of amorphous Fe81.5B18.5 alloys.
