Abstract
A structural quality/quantity choice model is developed to evaluate th e impact of improved fiber quality and the resulting economic surplus under biotechnological scenarios. Two major biotechnology scenarios ar e considered for a comparative analysis of fiber quality improvement. Results show impacts on fiber quality improvement and economic returns .
