Abstract
Single layer honeycomb strip chambers have been constructed for the tr acking calorimeter TRACAL. This detector is a component of the RD5 exp erimental test setup at CERN, where aspects of muon detection in LHC c onditions are studied. The construction of the chambers is described a nd the excellent spatial resolution obtained from strip signals (sigma < 60 mum) is reported.
