J. Segall et al., EVIDENCE FOR A CAGE EFFECT IN THE UV PHOTOLYSIS OF HBR IN AR-HBR - THEORETICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS, Chemical physics letters, 207(4-6), 1993, pp. 504-509
Evidence for a cage effect in the 193 nm photodissociation of HBr in t
he Ar-HBr cluster is found. This effect manifests itself as a tail ext
ending toward lower energies in the hydrogen photofragment kinetic ene
rgy distribution (KED). This is a consequence of energy transfer in co
llisions between the light and the heavy atoms. There is good agreemen
t between the experimental and theoretical KEDs.
