Abstract
The case of a patient with an intracardiac ectopic thyroid is reported . A cardiac tumor was found in a 66-year-old woman and was diagnosed b y two-dimensional echocardiography. An intraoperative biopsy was perfo rmed, and the mass was recognized as an ectopic thyroid and treated wi th a conservative surgical approach because of the size, location, and relationship to adjacent structures. The 60-month follow-up shows nor mal echocardiographic images and the good clinical status of the patie nt.
