Ten new highly oxidized cycloartane-type triterpenoids, 24-epi-7,8-did
ehydrocimigenol, 7,8-didehydrocimigenol, 25-O-acetyl-7,8-didehydrocimi
genol, 3-keto-24-epi-7,8-didehydrocimigenol, diacetyl-24-epi-7,8-dideh
ydrocimigenol-3-xyloside, O-acetyl-24-epi-7,8-didehydrocimigenol-3-xyl
oside, 24-epi-7,8-didehydrocimigenol-3-xyloside, 8-didehydro-24-O-acet
ylhydroshengmanol-3-xyloside, 24-epi-acerinol and heracleifolinol, wer
e isolated from the rhizome of Cimicifuga heracleifolia KOMAROV and th
eir structures were determined by the use of two-dimensional nuclear m
agnetic resonance (2D NMR) techniques (H-1-H-1 correlation spectroscop
y (COSY), H-1-C-13 COSY, H-1-C-13 long-range COSY) and by X-ray diffra
ction analysis of the 3-keto compound.
