This paper presents laboratory results and field data obtained on the
erosion resistance of metallic and ceramic wear parts of low alloy ste
el, Nihard, high chromium cast iron, 85% alumina ceramic, and 91% alum
ina ceramic. The influence of the mass flux and impact angle is evalua
ted in the laboratory tests. The applicability of laboratory tests to
predict wear life in the field is also discussed.
